Keeping Up with Team YOLO

Posted by: Ursula Zamora on Monday, February 18, 2013

For most people February means monster snow storms, shoveling and snowmen. For our Garden of Life sponsored athletes on Team YOLO, it just means more time out on the water and placing in races!

On Saturday February 16, Team YOLO members participated in the Mayors River Fest in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Over 70 racers of all ages competed in either a 4 mile long course or 2 mile short course in the Intercoastal Waterway.

"We couldn't have asked for a better day," adds Mayor Adam Barringer. "Turnout for the event has been amazing and incredibly motivating.” He told the racers, "I will paddle with you in the next event this year."

Team YOLO Board member Westy took 2nd Place overall.

Also on Saturday, Team YOLO Board member Rand Perkins took 1st Place at the Corona Light Tampa Bay SUP Winter Race, which took place at the Post Card Inn on St. Pete Beach. The Winter SUP Race Series features a two mile fun and six mile race class which was fun for all involved.

Congratulations to all of our Garden of Life sponsored racers on TEAM YOLO!
