At Garden of Life, several of us in the office are big fans of the eco-friendly products offered by The Honest Company. Launched last year by actress and activist Jessica Alba and her partner Christopher Gavigan, the company’s household and personal care products are safe, toxin-free and even worry-free for mothers fretting over exposing their children to harsh chemicals.
We like products from the Honest Company so much that we even featured a few in our Extraordinary Health Magazine’s “Cool Picks” section last year. However, I never had a chance to try the bubble bath because there was simply no place to test it in the office! Luckily, I have a huge, heart-shaped bath tub at home (seriously, it’s like something you’d see in the Poconos honeymoon suite!) that literally cries out for a luxuriant bubble bath. I decided to put the bubbles to the test and see what happened.

First of all, no bubble bath can be complete without relaxing lights to set the mood, so I used this soy-free lavender mint candle from The Honest Company.

After the tub was partially filled with warm water, I added a couple of ounces of the bubble bath and waited for it, waited for it, waited for it…and was suddenly immersed in a lovely, lemony fragrance that filled the entire room. Made with essential oils, the scent had real staying power and was still noticeable about 20 minutes later when I reluctantly let the water drain away!
Oh yes, and before I forget, there were bubbles. Plenty of them. Overall, this product was a sheer delight and I could also see how Moms would be thrilled to use this gentle, sweet smelling bubble bath for their kids.
Although I did not think the bubble bath was overly drying, I slathered on some of the Honest Company’s body oil afterward and I was good to go. It felt moisturizing and light, so I think it would be ideal to use after shaving, which I’ll try another time.
