A Smoothie for the Generations

Posted by: Ursula Zamora on Wednesday, March 13, 2013

On a recent trip to visit family in New York, my youngest caught a stomach bug. As a mother, my heart ached for him as he lost his normally voracious appetite and barely could keep liquids down. Enter my dad.

My father has taken to healthier eating especially since getting his new Vitamix. He knew that my little guy wasn't eating much, so he hoped that one of his fruit smoothies would hit the spot...and boy did it ever! My little guy drank about 1/4 cup and upon finishing, nearly hopped on the kitchen island from his seat pointing at the Vitamix, then to his cup, back and forth begging for more. He had two more helpings!

This is my dads smoothie recipe which makes enough for 4 generous servings.

Stan's Super Smoothie
1/4 cup each:
Pineapple
Blackberries
Strawberries
Blueberries
Pears
1/2 cup rice milk
1 personal serving of plain greek yogurt
1 scoop vanilla RAW Protein

Blend all ingredients together with a bit of ice and enjoy!

Nom nom nom!
