The Business of Being Chris Wark

Posted by: Rhonda Price on Monday, April 15, 2013

Almost 10 years ago, Chris Wark never gave much thought to his diet, his stressful lifestyle, or his overall health. Self-employed as a real estate investor, the 26-year-old poured all of his energy into his job and making a comfortable home in Memphis for himself and his wife. When he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2003, it was like a sucker punch that came out of nowhere.

Chris embarked on a raw, vegan diet for 90 days and then worked with a naturopath to add clean meat to his diet. He was also inspired by reading The Maker’s Diet by Garden of Life founder Jordan Rubin, which recommended unprocessed, organic foods and eliminating environmental toxins. He gradually became a student of alternative medicine, and spent hours researching natural cures, supplements, and healing foods. Most of all, he was meticulous about scrutinizing every single thing he put into his body, which meant pouring over product labels and nutrition panels.

Chris is known for his website Chris Beat Cancer, and has caught the eye of so many people and inspired them to take charge of their own health. Tomorrow-Tuesday April 16-Chris will be featured on The Ricki Lake Show (click to find airtime locally). Be sure to check Chris out on the show and also in the coming weeks in Garden of Life's own Extraordinary Health Magazine.

Recently we featured this YouTube Review of Protein Powders that he made featuring Garden of Life RAW Protein.

I`ve just decided to go grain free as well as to follow a ketogenic diet to address my prostate cancer relapse as well as my type 2 diabetes and CAD.Which of the protein powders would you recommend ? Presently I use Certified Organic Raw Power which provides 10 g. of protein per 1 oz. of powder.
