Garden of Life Gets Deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan

Posted by: Ursula Zamora on Friday, May 10, 2013

Not long ago we were contacted by the wife of a US Navy SeaBee stationed at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan.  She has been sending Garden of Life products for her husband while deployed and the 50 men in his battalion have been interested in all of this stuff he was taking to keep him healthy and energized-even on long convoys away from base camp.

The service members wife had asked if we would be able to send some products for the whole group. Of course it was our honor to say Yes!  We shipped shaker cups, RAW ONE for Men, RAW Protein and Perfect Food RAW for them to use in camp and on their convoys. Our Garden of Life shaker cups were a hit since outlets and blenders are not readily available on convoys.

As many of you who have loved ones deployed overseas know, mail can take a while to get all the way over to the other side of the globe. We were thrilled to receive the following photos from Afghanistan via the officer’s wife recently. The photos were taken at unknown points along on the convoy and we hear that everyone loves their shaker cup, RAW ONE, Perfect Food RAW and RAW Protein!

Once they return back from their convoy, we should have some more great photos from Camp Leatherneck.

For those who don't know, The Seabees are division of Navy and they do combat construction, building, welding, pipefitting, etc. The 50+ servicemen that received products are part of special operations team called CSE (convoy security element) and they travel through Afghanistan providing security for passengers, equipment, building supplies and the people of Afghanistan.

Camp Leatherneck is a 1,600 acre United States Marine Corps base located in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The site is located mostly in Washir District and is conjoined with Camp Bastion, the main British military base in Afghanistan.

We couldn’t be happier to help support our amazing troops overseas. Thank you to all who serve as well as their families.
