As a Morselist, promoting Healthy Morsels at food fairs and store demos, I’ve met the gamut of people seeking out free samples, new products, education and great story fodder. Overall, I’ve met the “good” and the “bad” at demo tables. There are people are looking for a freebie and not caring about what it is they are taking, people who ask about your product but proceed to cut you off, and people who don't understand why we don't use sugars and other unhealthy ingredients like most mass produced foods. Sadly, many people certainly don't want to hear that our products are made vegan, sugar and salt-free for my father, who is unable to eat those things.
Fortunately, there are a few people who “get it.” These people are a joy because they want to have a conversation about health and to hear the Mac-n-Mo’s story.
One incredible Morsel Taster, was a woman who entered the health field after she watched her Dad suffer and pass away from diabetes. Another woman stopped byand we had a passionate conversation about how addictive sugar and salt can be and how we’ve watched our loved ones suffer from it. As one day came to a close and just as I was putting my mailing list into my Morsel Bag, a beautiful family approached and said, “WE LOVE Mac-n-Mo’s!”
I was taken aback. “You know Mac-n-Mo’s?” I asked. “Yes,” replied the mother, “Our kids LOVE the Chocolate Chip and my husband and I love the Pumpkin Cranberry and we love that there’s nothing bad in them! We saw them here in the store about a month ago and my kids liked the logo and picked them up. When I read the story and saw the nutritional info, I decided to give them a try.”
YES, it’s the little things! Meeting people who “get” what I’m doing makes it 100% worthwhile! For all of the Garden of Lifer’s reading this blog, I know that you’ll “get” why my delicious recipe for comfy porridge with Raw Protein is so wonderful and healthy!
