Getting To Know MMA Great Cung Le

Garden of Life is very excited to introduce one of our newest sponsored athletes-a versatile athlete and actor named Cung Le.

 

Cung is is a highly respected Mixed Martial Arts competitor who has been invited to China to headline the inaugural China TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) where he is the Master Coach and mentor to competitors. The Chinese Ultimate Fighter will reach over 1 billion viewers.

 

Cung is widely considered to be the modern day Bruce Lee. He has been the World Middleweight Strike Force Champion and Black Belt Magazine’s Kung Fu Artist of the Year. 

 

Cung Le recently wrapped filming of the independent film A Certain Justice, which he not only starred in but choreographed the fight scenes. In addition to A Certain Justice, Cung also starred alongside the RZA, Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu in The Man With The Iron Fists which will be followed by Wong Kar Wai’s film The Grandmasters opposite Ziyi Zhang to be released by The Weinstein Company late in 2013.

Cung’s long list of films does not stop there. Dragon Eyes, a script which was written for him and produced by Joel Silver’s Dark Castle and After Dark Films was released in theaters earlier this year.  Cung also choreographed all of the action scence leading him to be awarded Breakout Star at Action fest.

Cung’s film roles overseas found him co-starring for the renowned Asian filmmaker Master Yuen Woo-Ping in the epic Chinese language film True Legend opposite Michelle Yoeh and in the Chinese language film Bodyguards and Assassins opposite Donnie Yen for Teddy and Peter Chan. Cung choreographed his fight scenes for Bodyguards and Assassins, which became the top grossing film in Asia.  Rounding out his filmography with his role in The Grandmasters, Cung Le will have had a starring role in the three most prestigious Chinese films in a few years.
