Ian Slater's RAW Pro Logs

Posted by: Garden of Life on Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Hockey player Ian Slater is often on the road where nutrition might not always be the best.  He makes these "Pro Logs" for those quick trips in the car or when he's playing in other cities and needs a snack that is not only filling, but healthy.

Ian Slater's RAW Pro Logs
Recipe:
In a food processor, completely blend:
-2 cups Dates
-2 cups Nuts (any preferred nuts or a mix of nuts-i.e. almonds, walnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds)
-1 scoop GOL Protein

Place contents in a bowl

In the food processor, again completely blend:
-1 T Cinnamon
-1 T vanilla extract or whatever preferred extract you like
-1/2 cup Garden of Life RAW Organics Chia and Flax Seed mix
-1 1/2 cups of whatever dried fruit you like (cranberries, blueberries, apricots, apples, bananas, raisins)
-1 tsp seasalt
-1/2 cup oats
*optional add-ins
-1/2 cup cacao nibs
-1/2 cup flaked coconut

Place contents in the same bowl. With a glove or ziplock bag, hand mix until you get the right consistency. Use your judgment to add extra "wet" or "dry" ingredients. Using parchment paper, shape and mold the mixture into a log shape. Place in fridge and enjoy at your leisure.
