Healthy Breakfast Ideas with GoL Sponsored Athlete Toni Lee

Healthy breakfast refuels your body. It jumpstarts your day by igniting your metabolism and studies show that eating first thing in the morning may improve your overall health. Even if you don’t have a lot of time, there are many quick and flexible choices you can grab at home which will give you plenty of healthy ways to put breakfast back on your daily menu.

When you eat a healthy breakfast, you’re more likely to:

• Manage and control your weight
• Consume more vitamins and minerals
• Decrease your fat and cholesterol intake, which may reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease
• Increase mental concentration and daily productivity throughout the morning

A healthy breakfast meal should contain a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low or non-fat dairy products and lean protein.
Some quick and healthy choices include:

• Low-fat yogurt and a piece of fresh fruit
• Smoothie made with fruit and low-fat yogurt
• Whole-grain cereal with fresh fruit and low-fat milk or almond milk
• Oatmeal with skim milk, raisins and nuts
• Lox made with smoked salmon on ½ whole-grain bagel with light cream cheese
• Veggie, egg white omelet and a piece of whole-wheat toast
• Scrambled egg and a slice of tomato or lean ham
• Hard-boiled eggs and a banana

Here’s my favorite Raw Protein Power Pancakes Recipe:

• 5 egg whites
• 1 serving Garden of Life RAW Protein Vanilla
• ½ cup rolled oats
• ½ tsp. vanilla or almond extract
• ½ cup favorite fruits
• Stevia (with zero calories) or Cinnamon to taste

• Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth or mix the ingredients with a fork.
• Cook the pancakes in a non-stick frying pan until light to golden brown on both sides.
• Add your favorite toppings, like sugar-free syrup.

Happy Breakfast Everyone!

I've never thought about using raw protein in pancakes before, but I'm itching to try these now!
