Hello, I’m Gigi Marvin and a member the US Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team and a Garden of Life Sponsored Athlete.
As a sponsored elite athlete, I receive the phenomenal products that Garden of Life provides. My favorite products are the fucoPROTEIN bars. Throughout my career, I’ve had numerous protein bars; however, nothing compares to the fucoPROTEIN bars. They are all-natural, contain no isolates, high in protein, and taste delicious. Other competitors’ products leave me feeling weighed down because they are so difficult to digest due to their ingredients. Garden of Life’s products are all-natural and this makes a massive difference. After consuming these bars, I feel replenished, refueled, and prepared to attack my next workout. This is exactly the mindset athletes enjoy so I’m thankful that Garden of Life creates products that coincide with my lifestyle.
Garden of Life lists this on their website: “We are interested in building relationships with people to help them transform their lives.” Not only does this company provide amazing supplements but they also work to help others. It’s awesome teaming up with a company that practices what they believe in. This love for encouraging/building others up is evident in their consumer relations and throughout their social media/website. Constantly they post messages, pictures, or articles celebrating people’s transformations or encouraging others that they too can be transformed. Honestly, what a blessing to be supported by a company that constantly works to build these relationships and encourage others that they can achieve a healthy lifestyle.
For everyone struggling with their eating, it’s uplifting looking at the Garden of Life twitter feed and seeing other people conquering, overcoming, and transforming their lives. We will go through struggles in this life, but we are never alone. God is always with us and absolutely will give us the strength to not only overcome; but to be free (1 Cor 10:13, 1 John 5:3-5).
God has also blessed us with others to be built up, encouraged, and uplifted. When you think you are alone, look within your heart and feel the strength that comes from God. Then go to your family, friends, neighbors, random people, or social media sites such as Twitter and witness the constant stream of support. Being on a team, we get to encourage one another when we are struggling and I’m thankful that I get this continued support!
Here’s a quick update on what’s happening with myself and Team USA:
We head to St. Paul, MN, Dec 28 for a game against our huge rivals, Team Canada. Then we face off against Canada Dec 30, in Toronto. That will be the last time we play them before the Olympics.
After Toronto, we fly to Ann Arbor, MI for the NHL Winter Classic. The Detroit Red Wings will host the Toronto Maple Leafs in a nationally televised outdoor game. Aside from the Stanley Cup playoffs, this is the highlight of the NHL season. I’ve never been to a Winter Classic so I’m PUMPED! The unveiling of both the US Men’s and Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey teams will be announced between periods of the game. It will be an amazing moment to share with my teammates, coaches, family, and friends.
After our announcement in Michigan, we will fly back to Boston and finish our final month of Olympic preparations at our home rink. You can follow us (US Women’s Olympic Hockey Team) through usahockey.com, Facebook or Twitter.
I thank you for the support, encouragement, and prayers you send our way!!!
