Sweet Treats from Celebrity Trainer Joey Rubino

For many the new year is a chance to make changes in their health and diet.  While we make changes to our meals, quite often desserts and sweets can put a kink in even the best made food plans.

Celebrity trainer Joey Rubino has shared these two tasty treats to please any sweet tooth without undoing all those great healthy food choices.

 

 

Goji Protein Shake

 

 

1 scoop RAW Protein Vanilla Flavor

3 Tablespoons Goji Berries

2 Tablespoons Garden of Life, RAW Organics Chia Seeds

1 cup almond milk

Honey or agave to sweeten

 

Blend all ingredients until they form a liquid paste and serve. You can eat it with a spoon from a cup or from your shaker cup (add a little almond milk to make it more fluid if you need).

 

 

 

Quick and Easy Chocolate Mousse

 

Sometimes, you just want a little something decadent. Skip the prepackaged preservative filled treats; instead, toss these three good-for-you ingredients together and in 15 minutes you'll be glad you did.

 

4 Tablespoons Garden of Life Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

4 Tablespoons cocoa powder

4 Tablespoons organic honey 

Optional mix-ins:

2 Tablespoons almond milk (to give a more liquid consistancy) 

2 Tablespoons organic peanut butter

2 Tablespoons chopped organic almonds

2 Tablespoons dried organic cranberries

2 Tablespoons cocoa nibs
5 drops peppermint, orange or almond extract


 

Yield - 4 servings

This can be prepared in a small blender, such as a Magic Bullet, or can be mixed in a bowl. If mixing by hand, make sure coconut oil is stirred to the point that it is liquid. Combine all ingredients. Pour into 4 small ramekins. Refrigerate for 15 minutes and enjoy!
