Today I added Garden of Life Chia Seeds and Ground Flax Seeds to my daily smoothies. I make enough smoothies for the rest of the day and store in mason jars in the fridge. I put 2 tbsp of chia seeds and 2 tbsp of ground flax seeds into a bowl and added 1 cup of water. Stir to make sure that everything is moistened- no lumps. Let sit for at least 10 minutes before making smoothie. I made breakfast for my husband while letting it soak- so that gave it about 15 minutes or so of soaking time. I had this nice slurry by the time I was ready to make my smoothie. I prefer using Garden of Life chia and flax seeds because they are organic and cold milled (in the case of the flax seeds).

I admit- my smoothies are always going to be pretty much the same. I know what I like. The added superfood powders may change, I do change up my greens (pea shoots, sunflower greens, romaine, kale, spinach in rotation most of the time unless I am running low then it may be a few days in a row of one thing- right now it is sunflower greens) but the rest is the same- lemons, very cherry blend of frozen berries from Trader Joe’s, coconut oil, bananas, bee pollen if I have it on hand (and I do!) and maybe a dash of liquid stevia. Water to blend. I make enough for 2 full qts of smoothie sometimes a wee more.
