Katie Mackey Breezes Through 1,500 Meter Preliminary Heats In U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials with Raw Meal!

Posted by: Rhonda Price on Friday, June 29, 2012

Olympic hopeful runner Katie Mackey is one step closer to the London Olympics after sweeping through the preliminary round of the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon yesterday. Best of all, immediately following her race she let millions of NBC viewers know that Garden of Life’s Raw Meal was her recovery drink of choice!

Earlier this week, Katie discussed the feeling of being in Eugene for the trials, the comraderie with her fellow runners and preparations for one of the biggest races of her life with humor and energy.

Airing live on NBC and the NBC Sports Channel, the Olympic Track & Field Trials will feature Katie in the semi-final rounds this evening while the finals will air on Saturday, June 30.

After last night’s race, an elated Katie held up her GoL shaker cup and told a reporter that “Garden of Life makes this awesome meal replacement – it’s called Raw Meal!” You can check out her interview here:

We’ll be glued to our television sets this weekend to cheer Katie on as she battles for a spot on the Olympic team. For more information, you can also check her out on her web site at www.katie-mackey.com
