Raw Meal Pina Colada

Posted by: Rhonda Price on Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Do you like pina coladas? (and getting caught in the rain?) I like them quite a bit, but rarely ever indulge in them because they pack about 645 calories each! Regularly listed as one of the most fattening cocktails to avoid, I’ve always shunned pina coladas unless I’m on vacation and absolutely have to have a girly “umbrella” drink. Imagine my surprise when I discovered I could make a super healthy version with Raw Meal!

Without the alcohol, I can shake this up and take it to work every morning. Best of all, I don’t have to feel guilty about drinking it, as Raw Meal is loaded with protein, fiber, organic raw sprouts, probiotics and more. No wonder it’s currently the # 1 selling meal replacement!

To make this pina colada, you can use Vanilla Raw Meal, Vanilla Chai Raw Meal or the original flavor. (any flavor but chocolate will do!) I used Vanilla Chai the first time and it was delicious. I used one scoop, but if you are using it as a meal replacement, I would recommend the recommended serving of two scoops. Here are the ingredients:

Raw Meal (one or two scoops)
1 banana
½ cup pineapple chunks
1 cup plain or vanilla almond milk
Optional: ¼ tsp. coconut extract

Throw everything in the blender.

Blend for about a minute on high and enjoy. Add an umbrella if you’re outside. If not, pour it in a shaker cup and go!

I'm running (not walking!) to the store to get everything to make this right away! My new, guilt-free drink! Hoping it's as delicious as it sounds!
