Spice up your Smoothie with REAL RAW Vanilla Spiced Chai

Posted by: Garden of Life on Monday, September 17, 2012

We've got a winner on our hands...oh yes we do! Garden of Life's Real Raw Vanilla Spiced Chai RAW PROTEIN, that is! I mean, when a drink is Collin-Powell approved (he's my husband), well, it's -- plain and simply -- a winner!

"It's DELICIOUS," I exclaimed after dashing into the bedroom to get Collin to sample the really tasty raw-vegan Vanilla Spiced Chai smoothie I had just made for breakfast! "It is," Collin replied.

With a small red and white stirrer/straw stuck in a wine glass, I had darted out of the kitchen to give Collin a sip and to find out if he would want a glass of his own! His glass of this creamy fall-tasting drink is now chillin' in the fridge. Once he's up for the day, his smoothie will greet him. Well, that's if I don't get to that second glass first. I mean, this drink is THAT good!

So, protein smoothie in a wine glass? you might be wondering! Yes, with a drink as palette-pleasing as this one, I knew it merited a special glass, so to my china cabinet I went...and a wine glass it was!

Making this beverage was as simple as 1, 2, 3! I had simply blended:

~ two bananas

~ 1 tablespoon of GOL's Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

~ 1 scoop of Vanilla Spiced Chai RAW PROTEIN powder

~ approximately one cup of water.

So easy! creamy! So delicious!

To think that with all that ease, you get all of this: One level scoop of the Vanilla Spiced Chai powder provides: 17 grams of protein, 200 IU of vitamin A, 400 IU of vitamin D, 5 IU of vitamin E, and 5 mcg of vitamin K, 250 mg of RAW Probiotic & Enzyme Blend, and more! The 400 IU of vitamin D contains 100% of the daily value required. Awesome, right?

The 21.9 grams per serving of Organic Sprout Blend that this RAW PROTEIN powder is made from includes: Organic Sprouted Brown Rice Protein, Organic Amaranth Sprout, Organic Quinoa Sprout, Organic Millet Sprout, Organic Buckwheat Sprout, Organic Garbanzo Bean Sprout, Organic Lentil Sprout, Organic Adzuki Bean Sprout, Organic Flax Seed Sprout, Organic Sunflower Seed Sprout, Organic Pumpkin Seed Sprout, Organic Chia Seed Sprout, and Organic Sesame Seed Sprout.

Yup, that's 13 different sprouts! I counted.

When I studied at the Living Foods Institute in Atlanta, Ga, I learned that "sprouts are actually a predigested food that is easily assimilated into the body and, of course, easily digested nourishment. The protein is a high quality food, low in fat and cholesterol free. The amount of vitamins will increase tremendously through the sprouting process. Lentils, for example, have a small amount of vitamin C. By sprouting, they become one of the best sources of vitamin C."

And, remember, Organic Lentil Sprout is part of this lovely Vanilla Spiced Chai smoothie!

By the way, here's the latest on that enzyme-rich drink I made for this morning's breakfast. Well, I've got to go and make another batch, because...guess what? Uh huh, I drank the refrigerated one that was awaiting Collin.

Well, you snooze, you lose, right? But don't you snooze on getting your Real Raw Vanilla Spiced Chai RAW PROTEIN powder into your kitchen and your body!

Oh, and my teenager is so getting a glass of this when he walks through the door after school.

Cheers!

Correction: The "approximately two cups of water" in the recipe above should really be "approximately ONE cup of water"! Two cups will more than likely make the smoothie too watery and, therefore, not fully provide that yummy taste I experienced!

Stay tuned for some more delicious juice/smoothie recipes that include this awesome-tasting Vanilla Spiced Chai RAW PROTEIN. I've been having such a good time creating beverages with it. :-) The combination of fruit I used in this morning's smoothie (along with the protein powder) ended up tasting like Pound Cake in a glass! :-)

Any other suggestions for recipes on the vanilla chai flavor? Someone I thought I saw put the raw fit with this as well?
