Spicy Kale Burgers infused with Vanilla Spiced Chai Raw Protein

Posted by: Garden of Life on Monday, October 22, 2012
As soon as I tasted GOL's Vanilla Spiced Chai Raw Protein, I was hooked. While I mostly use this product in my smoothies, I recently decided to experiment with adding it to raw-vegan kale "burgers" that I suddenly decided to make.

Simply using what was already available in my kitchen, in my food processor, I chopped:

~ Kale (approx. 3 or 4 large leaves)
~ Carrot, 1 medium
~ Apple, 1

Then, I added:

~ Juice from 1/2 Lemon
~ 1 scoop of Vanilla Spiced Chai Raw Protein
~ 1 tablespoon of GOL's Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil
~ 1 teaspoon of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
~ Various Seasonings: Sea Salt, Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Curry Powder, Caribbean Citrus.

I shaped the "burgers" as you see in the accompanying picture. Then, to give them a little warmth and slightly firmer texture without baking all of the "life" out of the ingredients, I put them in the oven that had been turned off for a while but still retained some heat.

What makes raw-vegan creations as such so fun for me to make is merely experimenting with what I have available and then adding two of my absolute favorite ingredients: GOL's Raw Protein and Organic Coconut Oil.

If you decide to give raw-vegan burgers a go, you can also have fun playing around with what's in your kitchen. What you end up with may just pleasantly surprise you!

Worse case scenario, dump the "burgers" in the blender and turn 'em into a smoothie if they don't happen to please your palate. That's one of the beautiful things about raw-vegan food...it can almost always be transformed into something else!

Bon Appétit!

Thanks, Peter! Sorry for the delayed reply...I'm just now seeing your comment.

Wonderful that you've been experimenting with raw food. I find it the most fun food to experiment with! :-) And I love how versatile it is...if it doesn't turn out as you want it in one version, it's pretty easy to "fix" it or turn it into something else! :-)

May you enjoy all your healthy experimenting!
