Sponsored Athlete Davita Parks "Billieves"

My career affords me some pretty amazing opportunities. One of which I just recently had the chance to be a part of in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I was invited to fly to New York to take part in the Buffalo Bills Billieve Campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. To say that weekend was life changing would be an understatement.
Many of us are aware of the statistics -- approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer some time during her lifespan, and the chance of dying from breast cancer is approximately 1 in 36, according to the Center for Disease Control -- however, to meet the women behind the statistics and numbers was overwhelming and inspiring. Their joy was contagious; their optimism inspiring; and their outlook on life was a lesson in humility from which we could all stand to benefit.
