In February 2010, Maura Knowles father (Mac) suffered two massive heart attacks and underwent a quadruple bypass surgery. The operation was successful, and Mac (who is also diabetic) was discharged with very clear and strict dietary guidelines: low salt, low fat, low sugar, low cholesterol, no trans-fat, and more fiber.
