Ingredients
For the strawberry smoothie layer:
- ½ cup milk of choice
- ¾ cup frozen sliced strawberries
- ½ Tbsp. honey, optional
For the matcha layer:
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1 tsp. culinary-grade matcha powder
- 1 scoop Garden of Life Raw Organic Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1 small banana, peeled, sliced and frozen
- 1 cup baby spinach
- ¼ tsp. vanilla extract, optional
Instructions
- Combine the strawberry layer ingredients—milk, frozen strawberries, and honey—in a blender. Blend until smooth and thick. If needed, add an extra splash of milk or a few more strawberries to reach a creamy, spoonable consistency.
- Pour the strawberry mixture into a tall serving glass. Place the glass in the refrigerator or freezer while you prepare the matcha layer.
- Rinse the blender jar. Add the remaining plant-based milk, matcha powder, vanilla protein powder, banana, and spinach. Blend until completely smooth and lightly frothy.
- Slowly pour the matcha layer over the strawberry layer. Garnish with crushed freeze-dried strawberries or a sprinkle of matcha powder, if desired. Serve immediately.
