Ah, summertime … When floppy hats, cold drinks and beach days come to mind. But, here in Florida, one other tiny thing comes to mind: mosquitoes (ugh!).

During the day, Floridians lather themselves in sunscreen. Come evening, it’s all about the bug spray. Unfortunately, some bug sprays available can be toxic. So, for those wanting to avoid this, there are effective, natural alternatives to these harmful insect repellents. We’ve got one here for you. Check it out!

Ingredients

2 oz. Distilled Water
1.5 oz. Witch Hazel
30 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
30 drops of Citronella Essential Oil
15 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil
10 drops of Clove Essential Oil
1 tsp. Jojoba Oil

Directions

Mix together all ingredients and pour into a 4 oz. spray bottle (note: we upcycled the mykind Organics Vitamin C Organic Spray bottle for this!). Shake well and apply when needed. Store in a dark, cool cabinet. Best if used within 90 days.

Beat the bugs with this natural alternative!
