Garden of Life sponsored the SUP Invitational at Higgs Beach in Key West, FL on October 17 & 18 for the second year in a row.  Special Olympians from across the state of Florida and local supporters spent time competing on the water together to benefit Special Olympics Monroe County.

On Saturday, participants were able to attend a fundraising dinner then dance the night away.  Sunday morning found everyone on the water competing in various races such as an obstacle course and distance races.  All participants received a medal and T-shirt and race winners received their awards from Molasses (aka Mo) the Sloth from the Monroe County Sherriff’s Office Animal Farm.

Each Special Olympian participating received a raffle ticket for a variety of prizes donated by local businesses.   Participants also received goody bags with a variety of samples including Garden of Life Raw Protein and Dr. Formulated Fitbiotic and a copy of Extraordinary Health Magazine.

Special Olympics Florida – Monroe County is a year-round sports and training non-profit that benefits people with intellectual disabilities and is an all-volunteer organization. Consider showing your support for these exceptional athletes on Tuesday October 27, 2015 on Special Olympics Giving Day.

Any donation, big or small, will help Special Olympics Monroe County meet their goal of 500 online donations in 24 hours to receive $50,000 from Proctor & Gamble to help them continue to work with 81 athletes across five sports so they can continue to excel, compete and most importantly have fun!
