Ingredients
- 2 small beets
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- ½ banana, frozen
- 1 cup baby spinach
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- ¼ tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. flax seeds
- 1 scoop Garden of Life SPORT Organic Greens Powder
- Optional toppings: banana slices, granola, shredded coconut
Preparation
- Place beets in a saucepan and fill with enough water to cover. Bring the water to a boil and cook until the beets are tender when pierced with a sharp knife, 20 to 30 minutes.
- Transfer the beets to an ice water bath. When cool, use a peeler to remove the skin of the beets.
- Place beets, cherries, banana, spinach, milk, vanilla, flax, and greens powder in a high-speed blender. Process until smooth; the mixture will be thick.
- Transfer smoothie to a serving bowl. Top with banana slices, granola, coconut, and other toppings, if desired.
