Mmmmm—Banana Bread! But not just any old banana bread. Our yummy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread recipe has chocolate chips and the added goodness of Raw Organic Protein for a healthy boost. Can’t you just taste it now? Warm out of the oven with melted chocolate chips inside—yes, please! And this gluten free banana bread recipe calls for a cast iron skillet which is unique in and of itself. With limited preparation, it’s easy to put one together at the last minute to please all your friends and family. Bet they won’t know this is a healthy version of an all-time favorite.

Serves: 8

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups gluten-free flour 

  • 2 scoops Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein Vanilla 

  • 1 tsp. baking soda 

  • ½ tsp. salt 

  • 1 egg 

  • ¼ cup butter of choice 

  • 1 cup coconut palm sugar (or Monkfruit Sweetener) 

  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed 

  • 1 cup vegan chocolate chips, divided  

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, protein, baking soda and salt).  

  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter (make sure it is at room temperature) and sugar until crumbly. Beat in egg and bananas. Add in dry ingredients. Stir in ½ cup of the chocolate chips. Transfer the mixture into the cast iron skillet then pour the other ½ cup of chocolate chips on top.

  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely before cutting and serving.
