This month, we’re featuring Brenna Seger, our social media maven and a first-time Mama-to-Be. Brenna’s prenatal journey has been exciting and full of wonder, and Garden of Life vitamins and supplements have supported her every step of the way. Let’s meet Brenna and hear what she’s all about, at home and at work. 

Hi, Brenna! Tell us about your role at Garden of Life. What do you focus on and how do you spend your time? 

I am the Senior Manager for our Social Media team. I focus on building our social media strategy across our main channels, including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and more. (See below for links to our social accounts and be sure to give us a follow!) 

My passion is connecting with our consumers on social media, sharing the wonderful benefits of Garden of Life products through fun and educational content created by our awesome team. I also love sharing information on our new and trending products—have you heard about Creamy Protein with Oatmilk yet!?

Health, Mindset, and Routines (Plus, Leisure Time Fun!) 

Now that we know what your role at The Garden looks like, let’s talk about your health habits and routines.  

At Garden of Life, our motto is Empowering Extraordinary Health®. What does “Empowering Extraordinary Health” mean to you? 

The “empowering extraordinary health” meaning has changed so much during my pregnancy journey. It is no longer just about me, my body, and my health. Now, everything I do is important for growing a healthy and happy baby! Taking care of myself physically with prenatal yoga and long walks, and mentally by reading baby books or taking time to meditate, is so important. 

Tell us more about how you kick off your day. Are you a morning person or a night owl? What do you do for breakfast? How do you spend your mornings? 

I am the most morning person you will meet. I love to wake up early and tackle a lot of my to-do list before I start my workday. I roll out of bed to spend time alone with my thoughts, catch up on my reading, make coffee, and do some chores around the house. I hope that this routine helps when our baby is here—I foresee a lot more naps in my future.  

What about your lunch plans? What do you generally do for lunch? Do you include any GOL products? Do you eat at your desk? Outside on the patio? Give us the deets! 

My lunch plans are whatever the baby is craving that day, and that’s changed with each trimester. One thing I have kept consistent is keeping my portion sizes smaller with tiny meals versus three big ones. This helps my heartburn and keeps me full for longer. For my lunch, I try to include as many leafy greens and protein sources as possible to help give me the boost of nutrients I need to get through the rest of the afternoon. I can't deny that the craving for cereal most days takes over. If I find that I am not getting enough of my daily greens, I like to add Perfect Food Super Green Formula tablets to ensure I’m supporting my daily needs.  

How do you get your movement in each day? Any changes since you’ve been expecting? 

Each day I try to hit my step goal by walking around the neighborhood with my two dogs. I also do a lot of stretching to keep my hips and back comfortable as my belly continues to grow! 

How do you close your day? What is your routine? Do you include any Garden of Life products? 

Each night I set myself up for a restful night's sleep knowing that sleeping while pregnant can have its challenges—like waking up in the night and now sleeping on my side. I start my evening routine with skincare, not just for my face but on my belly as well. Belly lotion and collagen powder are great to include in my routine! Before I go to bed, I take my prenatal regimen which consists of the mykind Organics Prenatal Multi tablets, Dr. Formulated Prenatal DHA, Dr. Formulated Probiotics Once Daily Prenatal, and Dr. Formulated Magnesium Gummies. This routine helps ensure I take my vitamins at the same time each night.  

How about leisure time activitiesare you diving into any podcasts, shows, or books at the moment?  

My favorite books right now are my baby books as this is my first pregnancy—I want to learn as much as I can and be as prepared as possible. I am really enjoying Expecting Better and Cribsheet by Emily Oster.  

How do you fill your mindfulness bucket? 

I fill my mindfulness bucket by spending time with friends and family. The last few years have really shown us how important it is to keep a connection with the people that matter the most! 

How do you fill your creative bucket? 

With a new baby coming, there are a lot of changes happening around the house and nesting is in full force! It's been great planning for a nursery, exploring meal-prepping ideas, and shopping for baby items. I find creative inspiration through Pinterest and social media, of course!

What’s your favorite recipe using a GOL product? 

One of my favorite parts of the job is working with our content creation team on delicious recipe ideas. I've discovered many helpful tips from our team! I enjoy making protein balls because of the variety of ingredients you can include to change up the flavor, and because they're powdered with Garden of Life protein to help get me through the day. You’re stranded on a deserted island. What Garden of Life product are you taking with you?  

I’m taking the SPORT Organic Performance Protein bars in Chocolate Mint – a few boxes too! I always throw a few bars in my purse or backpack to keep on hand for an added boost of energy throughout the day. You know these will come in handy on a deserted island!
